We also offer a variety of parent and kid classes for different ages. Wine and beverage classes are open only to participants 21 years and older.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are single-day, hands-on classes for the beginner or experienced cook?<\/strong><br \/>\nOur hands-on classes are a great fit for every experience level. Our expert instructors will walk you through the entire day, making you feel at ease in the kitchen with your fellow students.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are Boot Camps good for the non-experienced cook?<\/strong><br \/>\nOur only pre-requisite for Boot Camp is a passion for food and a willingness to learn. If you enjoy cooking and want to enhance your skills, we have a camp that is right for you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will we be eating the food we prepare?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes! In our hands-on classes, including Boot Camps, half the fun is eating the food you\u2019ve worked so hard to prepare. If you are participating in a Baking or Pastry Boot Camp, lunch will be provided.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is food served in wine and beverage classes?<\/strong><br \/>\nDepending on the class, we will often serve a cookie or crackers as a small snack with the class. Food and beverage pairing classes do have both food and beverage for participants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you offer accommodations for dietary\/allergy restrictions?<\/strong><br \/>\nWe do! Please note that our kitchens are not allergen-free, so please notify us of your dietary restriction at the time of registration.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How many people are in each class?<\/strong><br \/>\nClass size varies depending on the program and campus. Boot camps range from 12\u201318 people. Hands-on cooking and baking classes range from 16\u201318 people. Beverage classes typically range from 25\u201360 people. Our goal is to provide the best learning environment for all guests.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Where do I park? When should I arrive for my class?<\/strong><br \/>\nApproximately two weeks prior to your class, you\u2019ll receive an email from us regarding the particulars of your class, including timing, parking, location of class, etc.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I am traveling and need overnight accommodations. Where can I stay near CIA?<\/strong><br \/>\nWe\u2019ve got you covered! Check out our list of <a href=\"\/where-to-stay\/\" title=\"preferred hotel partners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">preferred hotel partners<\/a> near each of our campuses.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there a dress code for classes?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>For our non-kitchen classes, there is no dress code.<\/li>\n<li>For Boot Camps: loose-fitting trousers; closed-toe, non-slip shoes, no sandals; shirt to wear under chef\u2019s jacket; chef\u2019s jacket will be provided.<\/li>\n<li>For single-day classes: long pants; closed-toe, non-slip shoes, no sandals; long sleeve shirts preferred; NO shorts, tank tops, open-toe shoes, sandals or high heels.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Will an apron and other cooking attire\/equipment be provided?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes! An apron, side towels, and chef\u2019s hat will be provided. A chef\u2019s jacket will be provided for Boot Camp participants. Equipment needed for class will be made available for use during your program. We also offer <a href=\"\/cia-boot-camp-tool-kits\/\" title=\"tool kits\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tool kits<\/a> at a special Boot Camp price.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are your kitchens wheelchair accessible? Do you offer accommodation for disabilities?<\/strong><br \/>\nOur kitchens are not wheelchair accessible. We are able to provide reasonable accommodations. Please let us know how we can best assist you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is the cancellation and refund policy?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Single-Day Class Cancellation Policy:<\/strong> We understand that plans can change. If you\u2019re unable to attend your class, please let us know as soon as possible. While registration fees are non-refundable, cancellations made more than seven (7) days prior to your scheduled class may be transferred to another class of equal value within the following year, subject to availability. One transfer is permitted. You\u2019re also welcome to transfer your registration to another guest if you\u2019re unable to attend.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Boot Camp Cancellation Policy:<\/strong> We know that attending a Boot Camp requires planning, and we\u2019re happy to offer the following options should your plans change. Cancellations made at least 60 days prior to the start date are eligible for a full refund. Cancellations made 30\u201360 days before the start date will receive a 50% refund. Unfortunately, cancellations made less than 30 days prior to the start date are not eligible for a refund. Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment. If notice is received more than 30 days before the start date, one transfer to another course of equal value is permitted. Registration may also be transferred to another guest at any time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Class Cancellation by CIA:<\/strong> On occasion, CIA may need to cancel a class due to minimum enrollment requirement or other unforeseen circumstances. If this happens, we will notify you by phone and email at least 21 days prior to the start date whenever possible. You may choose to transfer to another class or receive a full refund to your original form of payment. While we are unable to cover travel or related expenses, our team will gladly assist you in selecting an alternative class that works for you. To ensure the safety and comfort of our guests, classes may occasionally be delayed or cancelled due to weather. If this occurs, we will contact you by email or phone as soon as possible. Full refunds will be provided for any cancelled classes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>Dining<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Are reservations required to dine at your restaurants?<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>To provide the best dining experience, reservations are strongly recommended for our restaurants.<\/strong> Walk-ins are welcome at Post Road Brew House on our New York campus (open January\u2013April) and The Grove at Copia in Napa. Reservations are not offered for Apple Pie Bakery Caf\u00e9 on our New York campus; Lunch Box at Copia in Napa, CA; The Bakery Caf\u00e9 at Greystone in St. Helena, CA; and CIA Bakery Caf\u00e9 (open January\u2013April) in San Antonio, TX.<\/p>\n<p><strong>How far in advance do I need to make a reservation?<\/strong><br \/>\nReservations can be made up to 60 days in advance of your dining date through OpenTable. Depending on the campus you are visiting and the restaurant you choose, reservations can fill up quickly\u2014so we recommend trying to make your reservation one\u2013two weeks before your desired dining date.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Can you accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes! We will always do our best to accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions, if possible. Please add a note to your reservation when reserving through OpenTable and make sure to tell your server upon arrival. Please note, our kitchens are not allergy free, but we take allergies very seriously, and will do what we can to prevent cross contamination.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What is your tipping policy?<\/strong><br \/>\nAt our campus restaurants in New York, California, and Texas students are not permitted to accept tips, in accordance with IRS regulations and the CIA Student Code of Conduct. However, we do include a 20% Student Support Surcharge on each check which is returned to our students through scholarships.<br \/>\nAt our restaurants at CIA at Copia, you will be served by industry professionals, and tipping is welcome.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Is there a dress code for your restaurants?<\/strong><br \/>\nThere are no dress code requirements for guests in our restaurants.<\/p>\n<p><strong>What forms of payment do you accept?<\/strong><br \/>\nTo provide you with a better experience and make payment easier, our restaurants have gone cashless. We do accept all major credit cards and CIA gift cards.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Are your restaurants wheelchair accessible?<\/strong><br \/>\nYes, our campuses and restaurants are wheelchair accessible. What can I do?<\/strong><br \/>\nIf you have registered your CIA gift card, we can easily replace it at its value at the time the loss is reported. Simply call <a class=\"telephone\" href=\"tel:1-845-905-4533\" title=\"845-905-4533\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">845-905-4533<\/a>, 8:30 a.m.\u20135 p.m. ET and a representative will assist you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>I have an old CIA gift card. How do I find out if I can still use it?<\/strong><br \/>\nIn accordance with the New York State Abandoned Property Law, the Culinary Institute of America is required to remit all CIA gift card balances that have been inactive for five years and either were purchased by a New York resident or where the card has no contact information regarding the purchaser. Any New York State gift cards that were purchased prior to December 10, 2022 that have unused funds need to be turned over to New York State after five (5) years. Gift cards purchased on or after December 10, 2022 that have unused funds after nine (9) years will be turned over to NYS Unclaimed funds. Guests who believe there is a balance on a CIA gift card are asked to contact the State of New York Unclaimed Funds, Office of the Comptroller at <a class=\"telephone\" href=\"tel:1-800-221-9311\" title=\"1-800-221-9311\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">1-800-221-9311<\/a> with their CIA gift card number.<br \/>\n&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>DISH<\/h2>\n<p><strong>What happened to DISH? Where did it go?<\/strong><br \/>\nDISH has a new home! While we have enjoyed our history with the Culinary Institute of America, we are excited for our new chapter as an independent entity. While the website address has changed, everything you love about your DISH membership remains the same\u2014including access to recipes, videos, meal plans, and member discounts.
